  • Who should we bribe to get IFTTT working ? :-)

Doubling the battery life is fantastic, unfortunately I don't get a lot of opportunities to empty the battery without IFTTT (or custom HTTP requests) support...

Hi Anne-Sophie F. , Thanks for taking the time to answer.

A release date was already given Tu us: in December, we were told that IFTTT would be ready for Q1 2019. We're mid Q2 already, and no news since.

It would be nice if we could have a stronger commitment about this feature, which was promised a long time ago (KS campaign!), and is a serious deal breaker for many customers.

The product is great: UX, hardware, App - really a great job done. But such a good product is pointless if we cannot use it because of one missing critical feature.

What is a bit frustrating for your "power users" is that IFTTT/Custom HTTP requests don't seem very hard to implement compared to what you have achieved already...

Hope to read some good news soon!

    • JL Picard thanks a lot for sharing your feedback about this. We totally understand your frustration as our team is frustrated too about not having shared this integration with our community yet. IFTTT has changed a lot of things in their offer for this type of integration, and we are trying to get you the best experience, this is why this integration has been delayed. We'll make sure to share the good news as soon as we can!

  • Hi, I use the remote for my Philips TV (55pos901F, a 2017 model), my old mid-1990s Denon hifi receiver (IR connectivity), Philips Hue lights, and a few Wemo smart plugs. All works! In addition the smart remote works perfectly for my Apple TV (but I might as well use the apple remote for just that task, since it is so elegant and small). So at least the philips tv remote and the denon remote are now tucked away. The Sevenhugs smart remote is much quicker and simpler when switching btw. TV hdmi input channels (esp. when using the playstation 4), for instance, and so many thanks for that! I actually don't use the pointing options (the boxes on the wall), I manage fine without those. May I ask one thing - about the "2x more battery life": how have you managed that, what specifically makes the battery last longer (i.e is there more use of low-power stand by or something)?

    • Rune H. S. thanks a lot for your feedback! Here is how we were able to improve the battery life: we optimized the software, turned off any part of the software or the electronic which is not used, we also turned off Wi-Fi when Smart Remote stays idle for a certain amount of time.

  • When I saw the add for the remote, I saw the Devialet logo as one of the supported brands. However after buying the remote I learned that the Phantom series is not supported. I was really bummed out about that. I’ve added myself to the enhancement request. Please add Devialet Phantom support. Thank you.

    • Christian thanks a lot for adding your vote to the Devialet speaker! We'll let you know as soon as we have information on when it can be integrated. It's true that when we did the Kickstarter campaign the project was to have more integrations for launch. We finally decided to ship Smart Remote to backers with fewer integrations but be sure that these integrations are still on our roadmap and will be added in the future via software updates.

improvements? as in... maybe sometime soon we could get the SDK and start using these protocols for real or virtual devices?

I will purchase as soon as this is available, even in beta.

Matt Burke I didn't even know the beta program was open. @Sevenhugs, you are losing opportunities by not involving your community. We don't get to use our products, and you are losing customers and goodwill. Everybody lose.

  • Is it possible to loose the trackpad and retain the circle(?) selector esp for roku? I find the trackpad is overly sensitive.

    • Martin maher sure you can use UI customization for this, here is how to do so:

      1. In Smart Remote App, select your Roku
      2. Select Customize Screen Layout
      3. Click on the Trackpad, scroll down and press "Delete button"
      4. Click on the "+" that is at the top left of the grid of 9
      5. Select your Roku
      6. Select "Navigation"
      7. Select "Save"
      8. Select "Save" again once you are back to the UI customization screen

Andrew Pierce did you make sure to remove the trackpad before and to tap the top left "+"?

      Reply Like
    • Sevenhugs hi, thanks! It's a little confusing, I wasn't sure what you meant by the + in the top left before (I was looking along the top of the screen) but just realised it's the + at the top left of the grid of 9. Would be cool if it worked on and of the grid if the app realised there's 9 together available. But yes thanks very much I now have the nav button back.

    • Andrew Pierce biggest problem I had with the track pad was it was hard to hit the up down left and right movements and it would often register as a central select press.

  • I am really impressed with the battery life improvements. I can go for almost two whole days without a charge! it sits dormant for a lot of the time so it's not used multiple times an hour like others but it works great!

  • The keyboard has stopping working for the Amazon fire TV. If I push the button it lights up but nothing happens. Sometimes if I push it I get an error screen that asks me to restart. In the app for the av scene in the beta layout the keyboard button is greyed out and I can't choose it. Same for the fire TV device. Lastly there is no fire TV device in the carasoule on the remote. I have restarted the remote with no luck.

    • Chris Thro thanks a lot for raising this! Have you tried removing your Fire TV via the App and add it again?
