Context menu button Kodi

Hi there, the Kodi context menu button shows the 'left pane' for sorting and changing view. This can already be reached by 'arrow left'. The context menu (right click so to speak) could be assigned to the 'hamburger' menu-button.

Ideally one could change/add buttons to homescreen of device.

  • Ruben Raadsheer thanks for sharing this, I just shared it with our team so they can work on improving Kodi interface on Smart Remote.

As a note here, you currently have the ability to customize your screen layout (changing/adding/removing buttons) for IR devices.

    • Anne-Sophie F. Thanks! Sadly Kodi is a WiFi-device, so even if I could (on Android so cant :)) it's not customizable?

  • Hi Anne-Sophie, the customization works! Sadly there are many Kodi buttons missing from the Device in the app. Can you look into adding more ActionID's (thats what Kodi call the commands)? Please see: https://kodi.wiki/view/Action_IDs .

I havent found how to get Key Commands to work (even with keyboard in latest firmware) nor can those be added as custom button (only IR learning). Kodi's keyboard controls are listed here: https://kodi.wiki/view/Keyboard_controls

  • In particular, I would love to see support for brining up the context menu, stop playing (and not just pause) and skip forward/back (arrow keys on the keyboard).
