Bouygues Telecom set-top box device cannot be added

Hello, i am trying to add a set-top box device via the app. i select the infrared devices category, then the set top boxes category, then i confirm location is France, then i search for Bouygues Telecom, which i find, then i press the continue on Smart Remote button and...

"Uh oh! an error occured while searching our database. get support on our app or webiste. code 0"

 

and then nothing else

  • Damien Di Martina thanks for sharing! Did you try to add your set top box via Model number? This could help in some cases.

  • Hello Anne-Sophie F. , i die try via the model number, which is a Sagemcom RTI422-320 BYT 253468912-B01. And i find a similar model in the database but not quite.

    It however ALMOST works, meaning that the IR communication works with the set-top box when remote is 50cm away - if more, then remote does not work anymore (direct line of sight, no obstacles whatsoever). FYI, the IR function of the smartremote works well with my LG TV when i stand about 3 meters away.

      Damien Di Martina do you have any issue with your Bouygues Telecom set top box or any remote you were using to control it before?

    • Sevenhugs thanks for replying, although it took longer than expected. no problem with the box or the dedicated remote, they did and still work perfectly fine. I still have the IR control distance issue with the smartremote.

  • Hi, I tried yesterday and I have the exact same problem and error message. My STB is a newer model than Damien and it and its original remote work fine.

    I can point to a technical contact within Bouygues Telecom if needed.

      Charles Ossent Hi Charles, have you tried to add it via model number or by testing the codes on Smart Remote?

  • Hi, I tried all serial numbers but none are recognized.

    It would be nice to be able to browse the database for Bouygues Telecom set top boxes rather than having to type the exact match.

    Also, there is a new error message on my phone when I try to search with the Smart Remote: 

    Uh oh!

    Mobile App API version is not compatible

      Hi, the search via Smart Remote now works (no more "Code:0" error).

      Product Number was: FWSMG9213011J, note it is still not recognized.

  • My answer was not so clear: search via Smart Remote works & it found a generic remote able to partly control my STB.
