Add custom steps to TV Scenes

Smart Remote allows you to customize which commands are sent by Smart Remote when a TV scene is activated and deactivated. This includes the ability to adjust delays as well as add, remove and re-order steps within TV Scenes.

For example, if your device is slow to power on, you can adjust the moment when Smart Remote adjusts the correct input. You can also configure additional commands to be sent to your TV scene devices. All from your Mobile App, under the TV scene settings.

Here is how to do so:

  • Make sure your TV scene setup is finished on Smart Remote (you have selected inputs for each device on Smart Remote and pressed "Finish")

  • Make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as Smart Remote.

  • Launch the Sevenhugs Smart Remote app and make sure you are on the Devices & Services tab.

  • Select the "TV Scenes" tab.

  • Select the TV Scene you would like to customize

  • Under "Customer steps (advanced users)" select "Steps at scene activation" or "Steps at scene deactivation"

From there you will be able to:

  • Re-order steps by holding and dragging the three bars menu on the right side of each step

  • Add a step by clicking on the "+" to:

    • Add command

      1. Select the device from which the command should come. If you would like to add a command learned via IR learning, please make sure to first learn the command on the individual device interface to be able to have select it in custom steps.

      2. Select the command you would like to add and select "Done"

    • Add delay: select the delay you want to add between two steps and click "Done"

Make sure to press "Save" once you have added everything you need so your TV Scenes is updated on Smart Remote.

Current limitations:

  • Custom steps can only be added and deleted, for now. We are working on the ability to edit them for a future release
  • Smart Remote App allows creating a maximum of 30 steps.
