Linn Majik DSM

There are three code sets for the Linn Majik, but none of them have codes for the full set of inputs on the Majik DSM.  The normal answer would be to learn them from the IR remote, but the remote only transmits three specific ones and what I think are three “placeholders” (they’re not the direct code for the input, they’re codes the Majik receives and associates with the inputs it’s configured to).  I believe direct codes exist and can give you the Linn documentation.  Can we talk?  Thanks!

Joe Saul have you tried to add your Linn Majik both by entering manually model number and by clicking 'continue on Smart Remote'? Do you confirm that you don't have the full set of inputs in both cases? Could you also please share what inputs are missing?

Sevenhugs  I did, as well as trying all three of the code sets you have.  What I’m missing is a large set of discrete input codes.  (You can see the code set in the link I posted.). None of the sets have more than a few.

The specific problem here is that the Linn Majik DSM’s remote only has three discrete codes - and another three which are “placeholders”.  Those placeholders aren’t discrete codes, they’re prompts to the Majik DSM to switch to three inputs which are assigned using the Linn configuration software.  So the Linn remote won’t generate any additional discrete codes that I can have the SmartRemote copy.  And I’ve got more than three additional inputs.

Hi  Joe Saul thanks for getting back to us. Could you please share with the exact model number and what inputs are missing?

  • Sure, sorry for the delay.  I'll post screen shots from the Linn Konfig app below.  The only inputs which seem to come with the configuartion are the first three.  As you can see, there are a lot.  They're all directly addressable via wifi, but the IR remote only has the first three plus three assignable placeholders.  A good Majik DSM code set would include all of the inputs, even if I'd only want to use a few.  The third image gives an example of how you can (somewhat) configure a source; I've renamed the HDMI1 input "Roku" for example.

I don't expect to be able to configure the Majik DSM via your remote -- I do want to be able to call any of the inputs when I'm setting up a scene, though.  It's okay if I'm calling it as HDMI1 instead of "Roku", but they should all be there.  Thanks!
