I agree 100%. I don't want to point at things. Only reason anyone ever did was because YOU HAD TO because of IR. Walk away from IR. Your first method should be IP control as everything is online now and everything can work via it's app. And just about everything is open or has an API. I mean look at how many apps there are to control a Samsung TV. I need this because I have a rack in a closet upstairs that as system components in it. And it's just out of range of bluetooth and even RF shit remotes like Harmony. I need a wifi remote that does IP control of everything, including appleTV and FireTV. TV control via IP too.
I would go with the Control4 one room but I want to be able to program it.
JUST INTEGRATE IP CONTROL and I'll buy 10! IP control for Apple TV and Fire TV, and IP control for Anthem AV receivers. And would be nice to include a mic button like Apple remotes have and alexa access. You could do this if it worked over IP!!!!!!
